ACCOUNT VERIFICATION POLICY – OffLimits (EN, Master Version)
Version 1.0 — Global (EU / US / International applicability)
1. Introduction
This Account Verification Policy (“Verification Policy”) describes how users (“you”, “user”) are authenticated within the OffLimits mobile application (“App”, “Service”, “we”, “us”).
The purpose of verification is to:
increase community safety,
reduce fake profiles,
prevent fraud and impersonation,
strengthen trust between users.
Verification is optional, but some features may be limited to verified users only.
2. What is account verification
Account verification confirms that:
the user is a real person, and
the profile photos belong to the same person performing the verification.
Verification may include:
a face selfie,
a short video,
prompted gestures or poses (e.g., turning head, lifting hand),
automated comparison of the selfie/video with existing profile photos.
Future verification options (e.g., ID document verification) may be introduced with explicit user consent.
3. Verification process
The verification process may involve:
3.1 Requesting verification
The user initiates verification in the App settings.
3.2 Capturing a selfie or video
The App provides real-time instructions such as:
“smile”,
“turn your head left”,
“look into the camera”,
“raise your hand”.
3.3 Automated processing
Our verification system or an authorized verification partner:
compares the selfie/video with the user’s profile photos,
evaluates similarity and authenticity.
3.4 Manual review (if required)
Ambiguous or unclear results may be reviewed by a trained reviewer.
3.5 Outcome
The user receives:
successful verification → gains the “Verified” badge,
failed verification → may retry after a period or upload new photos.
4. Conditions of using the verification system
The user agrees to:
provide authentic and current photos,
avoid filters that distort facial features,
avoid blurry or low-quality images,
not upload someone else’s photos,
not use AI-generated or manipulated imagery,
allow the verification selfie to be compared with profile photos.
5. Prohibited verification methods
It is strictly forbidden to:
upload or use photos of another person,
use AI-generated faces or deepfake content,
use face-swap or identity-altering tools,
edit or retouch the face in a way that affects identification,
attempt to trick, bypass, or interfere with the verification system.
Any such attempts may result in account suspension or permanent termination.
6. Verification results and consequences
6.1 Successful verification
The user:
receives a visible “Verified” badge,
may gain access to exclusive features,
increases profile trustworthiness.
6.2 Failed verification
If verification fails:
the user may reattempt verification after a given cooldown,
the user may be requested to update their profile photos.
6.3 Refusal to verify
If the user declines to verify:
the App may still be used normally,
some features may remain restricted (e.g., visibility or ranking).
7. Personal data processed during verification
The following data may be processed:
biometric facial characteristics (not stored as biometric templates),
selfie images,
short video recordings.
This data:
is used solely for identity confirmation,
is not used for marketing,
is not shared with third parties except approved verification/security partners,
is stored only for the time necessary to complete verification and then securely deleted.
8. Data security
OffLimits ensures:
encrypted transmission of verification data,
strict internal access control,
GDPR and ePrivacy compliance,
secure deletion of verification materials after processing.
9. Fake profiles and penalties
If verification or later usage reveals that a user:
uses fake or stolen photos,
uses AI-generated images,
impersonates another person,
attempts to manipulate or bypass verification,
the user may face:
temporary suspension,
permanent account deletion,
removal of matches or messages,
deactivation of Premium or Credits without refund.
10. Changes to the verification process
We may update the verification process at any time, including:
adding new verification methods,
adjusting requirements or gestures,
modifying cooldown times,
implementing additional security layers.
Using the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Verification Policy.
11. Governing law
This Policy is governed by:
the laws of the Slovak Republic,
applicable EU regulations.
In case of discrepancies between language versions, the English version prevails.
